Do you have experience supporting pupils with SEN? West Hill Primary School is seeking to appoint an exceptional, experienced qualified teacher as a SENCO (non-teaching).

The Governors and Head teacher are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner who will bring strategic focus and strong people leadership skills alongside exemplary primary practice. You will have a relentless focus on delivering a high quality of education to children in partnership with the Head teacher. 

This is a non-class-based role for a talented practitioner with a commitment to inclusion and the skills to enable statemented pupils and pupils with additional education needs to achieve their potential. 

West Hill Primary is a one-form entry school situated in the centre of Wandsworth, London with excellent transport links.

Our ideal candidate must have:

  • The NASENCO qualification or be willing to complete the SEN NPQ within 2 years of appointment
  • Excellent knowledge of the role of SENCO in a primary school (including a secure knowledge of Special Educational Needs/Inclusion/ Equality issues)
  • Confidence in use of data to analyse and evaluate performance, presenting outcomes to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of support staff to ensure provision matches the needs of all pupils with special or additional educational need
  • High levels of written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
  • Effective working in partnerships with outside agencies
  • Ability to deal effectively with child protection issues
  • Excellent understanding and application of SEND programmes and resources to best meet the needs of our children
  • Ability and skills needed to ensure continued inclusion provision improvement through coaching and feedback
  • Ability to ensure strong partnerships and communications with parents/carers.
