We have a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in a career in commercial data analysis and procurement. Joining our team as an Procurement Analyst, you will be a valued part of the Commercial Department providing support to the Senior Strategic Procurement Manager.

You’ll support the Senior Strategic Procurement Manager for global sourcing, taking ownership of managing the cost files for our imported products, as well logging, tracking and validating the invoices for all the services used to deliver them. You will be responsible for challenging our suppliers on invoice discrepancies vs our agreements and working cooperatively to resolve them, in conjunction with our finance teams.

In conjunction with the wider team, there will also be opportunities to gain responsibility for developing insight into supplier performance, understand opportunities and challenges that are being faced across our worldwide supplier base, and support sourcing projects and negotiations with our suppliers.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Logging, tracking and validating Freight and Far East agent invoices to ensure accurate vs our contractual agreements.

  • Being proactive in challenging and correcting inaccurate information, both in our invoices and our reporting

  • Working closely with Wickes sourcing agents and category teams to maintain accurate product cost files and manage robust cost change processes

  • Communicating effectively with Wickes sourcing agents and service providers on a daily basis 

  • Supporting the administration of Trading Agreements and supplier contracts through the signoff system

  • Supporting freight related cost recovery process and negotiations

What are we looking for?

  • Have an excellent eye for detail, able to concentrate and ensure total accuracy when manually validating complex invoices

  • Experience in global sourcing and understanding of freight services and invoicing is desirable

  • Ability to manage large sets of data 

  • Ability to prioritise their workload and manage conflicting deadlines and be comfortable switching between different tasks. 

  • Strong analytical skills are required, with the ability to draw conclusions and articulate their findings and analysis. 

  • To demonstrate their ability to work with both Excel, Google documents to develop reports. 

  • To be driven and resilient when faced with obstacles. 

  • To be enthusiastic and demonstrate a proactive approach to delivering results
