Finance Business Partner

Covering London and Southern based contracts

The Finance Business Partner is a new role within the Churchill Commercial Finance Team, supporting the Management of four of our core Business Units (Chequers, Churchill Electrical and Business Services, Churchill Environmental Services and JV Price) to provide best in class functional support. 

Reporting into the Commercial Finance Director, The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for ensuring that the financial aspects of a contract are clear to all parties when acting as the trusted advisor to the Operations team. Supporting the management of all commercial aspects of the business including pre-contract and operations, you will be expected to manage commercial risk and opportunity, resolving contractual and commercial problems as and when they occur.

As Finance Business Partner you’ll be:

  • Implementing and presenting budget/ quarterly forecasts per Contract
  • Financial analysis & modelling including target operating models, continuous improvement, and benefits realisation. 
  • Working with the Managing Director to support the future direction of the business to identify financial and commercial risks and potential mitigations.
  • Assisting in the completion of month end and subsequent delivery of high-quality monthly management accounts and reporting, including headcount reporting, variance analysis and appropriate commentary.
  • Maintaining profit margins through proper application of contractual terms.
  • Monitoring and reporting of commercial issues and procedures through monthly contract reviews.  Resolution of disputes with supplier and customers to avoid litigation.
  • Supporting cost management, trending estimating and forecasting of projects.

As Finance Business Partner you’ll have:

  • Qualified accountant or equivalent commercial finance accreditation with experience in a similar role
  • The ability to work with transactional detail with management reporting, budgeting and forecasting experience.
  • Proven experience of business partnering and commercial acumen, with proven capability to communicate financial performance to senior stakeholders.
  • An interest and experience in driving improved financial performance within a business.
  • Use of Power BI or Tableau is an advantage but not essential. 
  • Experienced in reviewing / negotiating / drafting / amending high value facilities management contracts.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
