We are currently recruiting for the role of Vending Operator at The University of Sussex. In this role you will be looking after the refilling and day to day maintenance of the vending machines on the Universities campus. We are looking for a friendly individual who is happy to work independently and finds satisfaction in a job well done.
A typical day in this role would look like –
  • Arrive to work and sign out your keys, check over the fill schedule for the day to see which machines need a visit.
  • Stock up your van to make sure you have all you need before setting off.
  • Your schedule typically has between 7-9 machines a day, set off and start working through the list.
  • When you arrive at a machine, follow the planogram, and start re-stocking. Checking for any maintenance issues to report back.
  • Give the machine a quick clean over so it is shiny and inviting.
  • Move onto the next machine on your route.
  • Stop off at the Costa machine to give it it is daily clean.
  • It is lunchtime – Head to Eat Central for your £6 meal allowance.
  • At the end of the day tidy up your van and sign your keys back in.
 
It is essential that you have a full UK driving license for this role, however all training will be given on operating and refilling the machines.
The role will follow a 40 hours per week, five out of seven rotas. Occasional weekends will be required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively participate in a team of drivers supplying a service to local health service premises. 
  • Observe all regulations governing the driving and use of vehicles on the public highway and to be aware of all employee responsibilities under Health & Safety at work legalisation.  
  • Undertake daily checks as are reasonable to ensure that the vehicle to be driven complies with legal requirements and is in good running order.  Report any defects or accidents, which may occur immediately.  
  • Maintain both the interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.  
Our ideal Driver will:
  • A full clean UK driving licence (provisional licence not accepted)
  • Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
