The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a focused, fast-paced and friendly content design team to deliver our content and communications strategy.

As the membership body for solicitors in England and Wales, we work to promote the value of the profession, protect the justice system and support our members.

Working as part of a team, you will provide a compelling, tailored and up-to-date digital content offering for Law Society members across our website.

You will be responsible for creating, editing and managing content, with a focus on resources (such as guides, practical tools and Q&As), news and features, and thought leadership reports.

In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts to:

  • create, edit and commission content on priority issues
  • make complex issues easy to digest, using clear, engaging and accurate language
  • make sure all outputs meet house style, tone of voice and brand standards
  • publish digital content using content management systems
  • use traffic and behavioural analytics tools to monitor and act on engagement
  • identify opportunities for continuous improvement throughout the content lifecycle
  • optimise readability and accessibility, informed by content design techniques, industry best practice and digital governance tools
  • provide editorial and content planning advice to colleagues
This is an dynamic and varied role, where your expertise and knowledge will be used to great effect to make a real impact for our members.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills who is familiar with user-centred design (content design) processes.

You will be able to quickly understand complex or technical issues and translate these into engaging, easy-to-understand communications.

You will have demonstrable content management system experience and a solid understanding of best practice in digital publishing, search engine optimisation and digital accessibility.

You will have experience using and applying insights from website traffic and behavioural analytics reporting tools.

We’re looking for strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly form positive relationships with colleagues at all levels.

You will be self-motivated, flexible and proactive with a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

You will have good planning, analytical and organisational skills, and be able to lead on long-term projects, multi-task and manage competing priorities.
