About the role

We have an exciting opportunity in our Highways & Transport Business Improvement Team for a Business Improvement Officer.  We are looking for an experienced, efficient, and flexible person who can provide high quality support. It is an extremely interesting and varied position where no two days are the same, we will require you to be flexible and use your own initiative, be able to multitask and meet strict deadlines to meet the demands of the role. 

The role will have some flexibility but you will be required to come into the office on a regular basis.

What will you be doing?

This role spans the whole of the Highways & Transport Service so as a Business Improvement Officer, you will provide a wide range of activities which will include but not limited to:

  • Performance management
  • Business improvement
  • Risks
  • Freedom of information
  • Complaints

You will be working on a varied workload each day to ensure efficient communication and delivery of service. You will need to follow standardised processes for service requests which include logging, processing, progress-chasing, pulling to together and directly responding to enquires as they come in and escalating where appropriate to provide a final resolution.

You will provide support to managers and colleagues within Highways and Transport as well as providing guidance and support to our Service Provider and other colleagues within WNC.

About you

We are looking for someone who can work under pressure, to deadlines, and who is friendly, reliable, and willing and ready to learn new things.

Applicants will need to be comfortable working as part of team, be able to demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills, along with a commitment to continuous improvement. They will have a good level of IT skills and have excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritise and plan how to allocate your time between conflicting tasks ensuring that all work is completed within the appropriate timescales.  They will have a flexible approach to work and colleagues and have a ‘can-do’ attitude

This role can be demanding and will require making decision on a daily basis.
