Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service provides prevention, protection, and response services across the county. We are committed to providing a great service to the public to prevent fires and reduce risk for the people of Oxfordshire. Training Support are a specialist team within the Training & Development department at Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, whose role is to develop, maintain, and deliver training material and to provide technical support to assist Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service with the maintenance of competency standards. A vital role to ensuring an effective Fire and Rescue Service, the team manage a varied workload, and adapt to meet changes in deadlines or training methods.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be part of a two-person team in Training Support, reporting directly to Watch Manager Training Support, working from Kidlington Fire Station with additional travel requirements within Oxfordshire. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating training packages to support the learning of Firefighters, as well as organising the storage of these documents on the intranet. This role involves communication with a variety of key stakeholders across Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, to ensure that training packages are updated to meet requirements. You will also be required to produce and edit video and photographic assets for use in training packages and presentations. 

About you

To be successful in this role you need to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely. You should be comfortable consulting on the packages not only with the members of your team but also with various stakeholders throughout Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service. You will demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team as well as to independently manage your own workload, prioritising tasks to manage deadlines. The successful candidate will have established that they are competent using cameras to capture video and photographs, microphones to record audio, and ideally would have experience of and or qualifications relating to the creation of digital learning packages. You should be confident using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
