Programme Support OfficerCambridge City Council – Impact, Performance, and Strategic Change Team
Are you passionate about supporting change and driving performance across an organisation? Join our Programme Management Office (PMO) and play a key role in helping Cambridge City Council deliver successful projects and programmes.
In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that provides guidance and support to project and programme officers across the council. Your responsibilities will include:

Meeting with project officers to assess project health and performance
Responding to queries via the PMO’s central inbox
Delivering training on our project management tool, Smartsheet
Supporting governance boards 
Creating engaging communications for our internal intranet site

The PMO sits within the Impact, Performance, and Strategic Change team, which is central to enabling and supporting change across the council.

Strong organisational and time management skills
Confidence in communicating with staff at all levels
Experience in project-focused environments
A flexible, proactive approach and a commitment to continuous improvement

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.
Although the role is advertised as full time, if you believe you have the skills and experience to join us and would like to discuss different working patterns, please do get in touch.    
Working Pattern: Five days a week Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed-Term until the end of March 2026 in the first instance
Salary: £32,597 – £36,363 per annum (City Pay Band 4), pro rata for part time.
Location: This is flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home.  You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.
