We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant Operative to join our team at our Head Offices in Abergavenny. Due to the nature of the role, we are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, Penarth, Barry, Porthcawl, Neath, Usk, Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Llanfoist, Bristol, Chepstow, Pontypridd.

Reporting directly to the Plant Trainer, the Plant Operative will ensure works activities are carried out effectively to the agreed programme and specification and undertake operations to ensure works are completed to the highest standard.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the Plant Operative will include the following (not exhaustive):

  • Complying with the Company H&S roles & responsibilities & legislative requirements
  • Understanding the controls identified to safely manage the risks associated with the construction activities
  • Taking care of own H&S and that of others who might be affected by actions
  • Completing and maintaining pre-use checks and equipment inspections as relevant to the role
  • Ensuring timesheets are populated with accurate information; acknowledged and authorised by the Site Management Team
  • Carrying out routine maintenance on plant in line with business and manufacturers recommendations

The ideal candidate will be a Plant Operative who is experienced in the following:

  • Prior experience in machine control
  • Strong communication skills
  • Drive and motivation
  • Strong team player

Furthermore, it is mandatory any candidates have an MPQC/ CPCS Card.
