The Role and the Team

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People Advisor to join our People, Culture and Talent team on an initial 6 month fixed-term contract. We do the right thing, challenge the status quo, deliver on our promises, bring out the best in each other and treat others how we wish to be treated. If this resonates with you then we encourage you to apply to join our team at Blue Light Card and contribute to our mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and implement new HR policies and procedures, and develop existing ones, to ensure an excellent colleague experience
  • Support the performance review process, providing guidance to managers and colleagues on goal setting, feedback, and professional development
  • Provide regular coaching and support to People Administrators to maintain team alignment on workload and priorities, providing additional administration cover when needed
  • Conduct investigations and disciplinary procedures as necessary, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies
  • Be an ambassador for colleague engagement, working on initiatives to enhance engagement and well-being, and actively contributing to our Culture Club events planning
  • Stay informed about changes in employment law and regulations, ensuring company policies are compliant

What You’ll Bring

  • Significant experience working in a fast-paced HR Advisor or HR Generalist role, with a good understanding of the end-to-end employee lifecycle
  • Great influencing skills with the ability to ‘manage up’ to ensure processes are adhered to, appropriate actions are taken, and deadlines are met
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate both cross functionally and within a larger HR department including TA and L&D
  • Confidence in positively challenging the status quo and decision making
  • Highly organised and results orientated, able to prioritise work efficiently
  • Good knowledge of employment law, employee relations and HR policies and processes
  • Experience in a PE or VC backed organisation is highly desirable
