Managing risk is pivotal here at the Skipton Group and we are currently looking for someone to join the Group Enterprise and Operational Risk Team as an Operational Risk Specialist on a 10 month contract to support with these activities. As an Operational Risk Specialist, you will provide support, challenge, and guidance as required to stakeholders in the management of risk across the Society and wider Group.

This is an exciting role that provides an opportunity to actively contribute and gain a real breadth of exposure within a dynamic risk team and Group Risk Function, that works collaboratively across the Skipton Group.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Supporting the development and implementation of the risk management framework across the Group.
  • Leading on and contributing to the delivery of initiatives on the Group Enterprise and Operational Risk Plan including supporting the oversight of our exciting change programme.
  • Working with data sets, analysing, interpreting, and summarising into easy-to-understand outputs.
  • Engaging, influencing, and building great relationships with key stakeholders across the business, acting as a point of contact on risk matters.
  • Supporting Committee pack and paper production.
  • Assisting in monitoring and reporting key risk indicators.

What Do We Need From You?

  • Attention to detail, and the ability to analyse and interpret wide ranging business information, identify themes and trends, summarise, and make recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • A quick learner who has an inquisitive mindset and can deliver at pace in an agile environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint etc).
