Job Advert: Key Holder – Hill View Community Centre
Salary £6,349.20 based on 10hrs per week – (full time equivalent of £23,809.50 for a 37.5hr week)
MTVH is pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Key Holder at Hill View Community Centre, located at Ransom Road, St Ann’s, Nottingham NG3 3JL.
This role is central to the effective running of Hill View Community Centre. Reporting to the Regional Community Coordinator, the Key Holder will support the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained space for residents and community groups.

Duties Include but not exclusive:
- Opening and closing Hill View Community Centre when required.
- Preparing the premises for hirers or event organisers, including setting up and storing tables and chairs before and after events.
- Ensuring facilities are well-maintained, clean, and ready for use by maintaining a safe and secure environment. This includes light cleaning tasks, rubbish disposal, and monitoring heating, water, and air circulation systems.
- Reporting repairs and maintenance issues promptly
- Providing access to contractors when required and supporting their work on-site.
- Acting as the first point of contact for residents and visitors, offering friendly, helpful support and clear information.
- Supporting daily operations to ensure the centre delivers a positive experience for all users.
- Assisting with bookings and general upkeep, contributing to the smooth running of the centre.
- Monitoring health and safety, including building systems, and escalating issues as needed.
- Supporting community activities by playing an active role in enabling and assisting the delivery of events, programmes, and initiatives held at the centre.
- Completing checklists with hirers when locking up, identifying any issues and reporting concerns to the Regional Community Coordinator.
- Inducting new hirers, explaining fire safety procedures, location of facilities, and usage guidelines, including how to report accidents and near misses.
- Conducting regular checks of all areas to ensure cleanliness while the premises is in use.
- Ensuring the centre is stocked with essential supplies (e.g. cleaning products, hand towels) and reporting shortages to the manager.
- Monitoring fridge/freezer contents and temperatures to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Ensuring users sign the Service Users Agreement and adhere to its guidelines.
- Monitoring attendance for MTVH-led activities.
- Updating internal and external notice boards with relevant and timely information.
- Actively promoting Hill View Community Centre to residents, community groups, and the wider public to increase engagement and usage.
- Undertaking training as identified to enhance skills and support the role effectively.
- Working collaboratively with MTVH staff and resident volunteers to maintain a positive and cohesive environment.
To meet our commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to our customers we will complete a basic background check with the Disclosure and Barring service once an offer of employment is made. As this is part of MTVH’s onboarding process the cost will be paid for by the organisation and a new checked performed every three years.
