Financial Controller –

We are currently seeking an exceptional finance professional to join us as a Financial Controller
The Finance function is responsible for the accurate and timely production of financial information to its internal and external stakeholders. Company stewardship ensuring compliance with the statutory and legal framework within each region and that a proper control environment is put in place. The department also supports business performance by producing high quality management information, encouraging a cost-conscious culture, and by providing advice, support and training which should ensure all business decisions are financially informed.

You will be working with the finance team in Poland across both operations and the shared service centre and their respective teams to ensure the accurate and timely production of financial information to its internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking to hire a highly influential leader in the Poland business unit who will ensure that full and appropriate financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders with accurate and timely financial information. This person must be able to proactively deploy the control framework and processes within the finance function driving improved efficiency and effectiveness in processes.
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting.
• Driving compliance through month-end control, reconciliations, and ensuring balance sheet financial risk is managed.
• Leading relationships with the banks/auditors and the authorities.
• Manage all elements of financial administration to include fixed asset register, capital expenditure approvals, purchase order and related general ledger postings.
• Manage Company cash flows and cash forecasting identifying pinch points and mitigating actions.
• Driving improved efficiency and effectiveness in accounting processes.
• To maintain the group policies and procedures manual introducing changes required by new accounting standards and legislation as required and ensuring compliance across the group and help introducing best practice.
• Management of key controls and framework within the business.
• Participation in improvement activities at department/company level to enhance business performance.
• Overview understanding of taxation and laws and regulations to identify when experts are required.
• Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety, Data Protection and all those contained within the issued Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures manual.
• Undertake other duties and tasks that from time to time may be allocated that are appropriate to the job.
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent; ACCA/ACA/CIMA (fully qualified)
• Significant experience in leading a finance organization in Poland including working with the authorities in relation to corporation tax, VAT, and employment taxes
• Proven experience working with senior stakeholders; international exposure in previous roles would be an asset
• Strong process compliance and process design capability
• Experience with managing the implementation of process improvements
• Confidence in working independently and prioritizing tasks/projects
• Commercially savvy and in-depth business understanding
• Strong analytical ability
• Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence stakeholders at all levels
•Good relationship skills plus an ability to collaborate and lead through informal and formal approaches
• Effective communication skills both written and spoken, internally and externally
• Fluent English
