Salary: £12.5 per hour

Shift hours: Permanent

As a Finance Administrator at Chartwells, Northumbria University, you’ll provide efficient administration to support the site, from processing invoices and data inputting, to analysing stats and implementing processes – you’ll be a great all-rounder. You’re the one with the skills to ensure behind the scenes our services run like clockwork and ensure our managers feel supported. 
This role is on a full-time basis, working 5 days out of 7.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Support managers with weekly and monthly closing of unit books, including stock, labour, and sales.
  • Produce client billing and client documentation and manage debt collection.
  • Support the forecasting and budget process.
  • Produce WTS report.
  • Identify ways to improve processes and work with unit managers to implement new processes.
  • Produce weekly wastage reports.
  • Support units in operating in a compliant way according to profit protection guidelines.
  • Carry out independent unit safe checks.
Essential criteria:
  • Very good numeracy / literacy skills.
  • NVQ2 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline.
  • Experience of finance and working in a finance office.
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of Excel and Word.
  • Use of accounting Software.
  • Strong organisation skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • High written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities. 
  • Work constructively on your own and as part of a team.
  • An ability to take responsibility and be pro-active in your work and to seek solutions to issues as they arise.
  • The ability to analyse data and identify issues and opportunities.
Desirable criteria:
  • Working within the catering, hospitality, food and beverage industry.
  • Experience using SAP.
