Job Description

Renishaw’s Manufacturing Services Division currently has a vacancy for a Development Machinist. This is a CNC milling orientated vacancy within the Tooling and Prototyping Department. The purpose of the role is to provide all business divisions with precision machined components for either new product development projects or for tooling requirements. The position is for a double day shift working pattern.

Salary circa £36,000 depending on experience + shift allowance

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture of consistently high quality components, delivered in line with project timescales. This will include drawing interpretation, process development, creation of NC programs using a CAM system, tool selection and fixture design and manufacture where required

  • Inspection of components using a range of measuring equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines

  • Liaison with designers and engineers to ensure components meet the application requirements and can be cost effectively manufactured

Key requirements

Applicants must have served an apprenticeship or have relevant experience and must be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise using a variety of manual and CNC machine tools

The ability to work unsupervised on projects and use initiative is essential

Previous exposure to CNC programming would be an advantage

Person specification

The successful candidate will have excellent team‑working skills and will enjoy the challenge of working in an engineering environment. The candidate must have a meticulous approach to work and a high level of attention to detail.
