We are currently looking for an experienced Control Room Operator to join our friendly team at Dunbar Cement Plant.

The role – Control Room Operator

In the role of Control Room Operator you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating, monitoring and carrying out raw milling, coal/petcoke milling, cement milling, kiln operations, cement despatch, and laboratory duties required for the production of cement material
  • Meeting the customer’s quality and environmental output requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner
  • Working flexibly to support plant operations, which run 365 days a year, 24/7. This includes night working, weekends, Bank Holidays and being on call if necessary

The ideal candidate will have experience of:

  • Significant relevant experience in cement plant operations or a similar industrial/chemical process environment
  • Experience in raw milling, pyro-processing and laboratory duties
  • Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of environmental and quality standards associated with the cement manufacturing process or similar chemical/industrial manufacturing
  • Shift work
  • An engineering qualification or a good understanding of mechanical/electrical processes and IOSH (desirable)
