CAMERA Innovation and Commercial Services Manager (SS13921) – Bath, BA2 7AY
About the role
CAMERA specialises in supporting research into the capture and portrayal of motion, bringing together work that can be applied across disciplines; in the creative industries, injury prevention, rehabilitation, biomechanics, sports performance, psychology and more. CAMERA’s state-of-the- art studios include a virtual production stage, a motion capture volume, photogrammetry body and face rig as well as virtual reality and 3D scanning equipment.
We are seeking a highly engaging and enthusiastic business engagement lead with specialist knowledge of motion capture and its applications (in sports technologies and validation, creative industries, and clinical settings) to build CAMERA portfolio and lead the facility’s external relationship management:
- leverage significant industry networks to promote the facility, developing its brand and reputation to generate income from research and industry partnerships
- identify and productise service offers that meet industry demand using capabilities of CAMERA’s specialist spaces, technical staff, and research staff where applicable.
The role will be wide-ranging, with both strategic and operational level delivery responsibilities. The post holder will have responsibility for CAMERA’s external activities; including managing relationships with CAMERA’s network, creating opportunities for research, R&D and commercial income growth and securing the long term sustainability of the facility. The successful applicant will be central to growing the reach and reputation of facility. This is an exciting opportunity to work strategically at the interface between academic and industrial R&D, forming links and strengthening regional capability; taking responsibility for business development activities and implementation of related activities including public engagement and liaison with funding agencies.
About you
The post holder will be expected to be knowledgeable about the creative industries or sports technology sectors. Experience of business engagement within higher education or UKRI funded projects is advantageous.

This is a part time (29.2 hours per week) role with an expected fixed term duration of 24 months.
