We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable and charismatic Bartender to join The Hedgerow, our glamorous cocktail bar inspired by the beauty of the British countryside. Featuring a dramatic marble bar and a cocktail menu infused with British botanicals, fruits and seasonal ingredients, The Hedgerow offers guests an elegant destination for sophisticated drinks, conversation and unforgettable experiences.

About The Hedgerow

Nestled within Conrad London St. James, The Hedgerow takes a unique “hedgerow to shaker” approach, celebrating the finest ingredients found in British gardens and transforming them into inspired cocktails and distinctive drinking experiences. The venue combines luxury, creativity and warm hospitality in the heart of Westminster.

As part of our Food & Drink team, you will work alongside talented hospitality professionals across some of London’s most exciting concepts:

• Romy Gill at the Pem, our destination restaurant led by celebrated chef & author Romy Gill MBE

• The Hedgerow, our botanical-inspired cocktail bar

• The Orchard, renowned for afternoon tea

• The Blue Boar Pub, our contemporary British pub

• Executive Lounge and Meetings & Events operations

You shift pattern will any 5 days of 7 with late shifts finishing at 1am to 2am.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

  • Preparing and serving cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, premium teas, coffees, and non-alcoholic beverages to the highest standards
  • Delivering engaging, knowledgeable and friendly service to every guest
  • Recommending drinks and pairing suggestions tailored to guest preferences
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of cocktails, teas, spirits, and beverage offerings.
  • Ensure drinks are prepared, presented, and served consistently to brand standards.
  • Support afternoon tea service by coordinating beverage delivery with food courses.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen, service, and management teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and service area.
  • Assist with stock control, replenishment, and inventory procedures.
  • Follow all licensing, food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal cocktails and innovative guest experiences.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous bartending experience in a quality bar, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality venue.
  • Genuine passion for hospitality, cocktails, teas, wines, and guest service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Positive attitude and team-focused approach.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Experience in luxury hospitality or afternoon tea service is desirable but not essential. Personality, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn are equally important.
