Warwickshire has a fantastic Fostering and Alternative Carers Support Team. We are countywide. We recruit foster carers, assess them, supervise, and support them offering our foster carers outstanding training and support. We also have an SGO support team and a Fostering Placement Hub.

We have links with Fostering Network and we are fortunate to have psychologists who are based in our team who offer consultations to our staff of Social Workers and Family Support Workers and importantly to our Foster Carers. We are proud of our Fostering Team and if you join us you will see why.

The post will offer you the opportunity:

– To be part of a team

Who are we?

As part of Fostering and Alternative Support Carers, the Connected Persons Team are a busy and motivated team focused on Connected Persons Assessments. The Connected Persons Team has the responsibility for the assessment of Connected Persons Foster Carers and the assessment of Special Guardians. We assess, train and support connected persons with the aim of securing a permanent home for children of Warwickshire. Your work will be child focused, analytical, and based on safeguarding evidence. We would welcome you into a stable and well-established team.


We are looking for an Advanced Practitioner or equivalent level to act as the Duty Co-ordinator on our Connected Persons Team. This is a unique position that brings together the worlds of Children’s Services and Connected Persons Assessment Team. This role will involve close working with legal, frontline children’s teams and connected persons management team. You will be responsible for monitoring and responding to incoming Initial Viability Assessments (IVA’s) from the children’s teams in Warwickshire. This position will require someone who has good organisational skills, is confident with managing data, who will ensure only robust assessments are accepted and can then process these in a timely manner. This role also had an element of training to it, where you will be offering training, support, and guidance to teams on how to complete a good IVA. At times you may hold up to one case for assessment. The third element of this role is to supervise a small number of skilled Family Support Workers. They support our foster carers, offering practical, emotional, or educational support.

For this post we are looking to recruit a part time post of 30 hours, on a permanent agile contract.
