Addictions Counsellor (Bank Staff) – Clouds House

At Clouds House, we are looking for a Bank Addictions Counsellor to join our residential treatment service, working within a fully integrated One Team model where collaboration, shared accountability and recovery-focused care are at the heart of everything we do. This is a flexible bank role within our therapeutic community, supporting individuals through structured, trauma-informed and 12 Step–informed recovery programmes.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver structured individual and group therapeutic interventions within a residential addiction setting
- Work in line with 12 Step principles and trauma-informed practice
- Complete assessments, treatment planning and risk management documentation
- Support clients to build recovery capital, life skills and relapse prevention strategies
- Contribute to safe medication processes (including eMAR where required)
- Maintain high-quality, accurate and inspection-ready clinical records
- Support practical needs including housing, benefits, budgeting and employment readiness
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external partners to ensure continuity of care
What we’re looking for
- Level 5 counselling qualification (or above)
- Experience in residential addiction treatment
- Strong understanding of 12 Step recovery frameworks
- Experience delivering structured group and 1:1 therapeutic work
- Confident safeguarding and risk awareness
- Strong communication, reflection and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Emotional resilience and a commitment to ongoing professional development
Desirable experience
- Dual diagnosis / complex needs experience
- Previous work in 12 Step residential settings
- Health & social care qualification
