Junior Assistant Broker – Reinsurance
What The Day Will Look Like?
In this position, you will support Senior Brokers in the Marine Practice (LATAM, Caribbean & EMEA) with activities such as:
- Reviewing Marine submissions, such as Cargo, Hull & Machinery, Marine Liabilities, Ports & Terminals, and gathering technical exposure data from cedants and corporate clients across the Regions
- Helping to prepare and present terms, benchmarking analysis, and placement proposals to network partners and clients
- Assisting with firm order broking via FDT, electronic placement platforms, and direct market communications
- Accurately recording broking activity, updating market sheets, and maintaining internal pipeline systems
- Reviewing draft and final MRCs (Market Reform Contracts), policy slips, and wordings with support from senior brokers
- Preparing and sending cover confirmations, cover notes, and endorsements to clients and regional network offices
- Supporting client and reinsurer meetings, including preparation of technical presentations and precise meeting follow-ups
- Responding to routine accounting and claims queries for marine accounts and escalating complex loss scenarios as needed
- Process accounts in Grids/FDT according Aon’s guidelines
- Working in accordance with Aon Iberia’s Risk Management Framework, ensuring strict compliance with local DGSFP regulations, international sanctions, and Aon policies
- Supporting negotiations with reinsurers and underwriters across lead and follow markets (including London/Lloyd’s and regional LATAM markets)
Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success:
- Ideally but not required, experience in the Insurance/Reinsurance industry
- Bilingual in Spanish
- At least B2 in English
- Ability to use industry IT systems, placement platforms and data tools to deliver efficient client service.
- Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive team player capable of working independently while contributing to cross-regional team goals
