About the role:
The DIGIT MHG Research Coordinator will play a key role in the successful delivery of the large-scale programme and associated projects of the Data & Digital Alliance Team (DIGIT) of the Mental Health Goals Programme.
Working closely with Professor Mitul Mehta, the research team, external partners, the funder, and other stakeholders, the post-holder will coordinate project activities from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery against objectives, milestones, timelines, budgets, governance requirements, and funder expectations.
The role involves managing day-to-day operational aspects of the research project, coordinating meetings and reporting activities, and maintaining effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.
The post-holder will be responsible with the grant financial monitoring and forecasting, overseeing of project administration processes, supporting recruitment and other related funding applications, grant communications, partner visits, stakeholder engagement, coordinating research-related events and travel.
The role requires a highly organised, proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities, work independently, solve problems effectively, and maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, governance, and professional conduct.
This is a full-time post and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 2 years with the possibility to extend until 31st March 2030
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Postgraduate Degree (or substantial equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in project management, research administration or programme management.
- Demonstrable expertise with industry or charity sector
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment for novel therapeutics
- Experience producing research communications
- Excellent stakeholder communication; service-oriented and clear under time pressure.
- Organised, detail-driven, able to manage competing deadlines and solve problems pragmatically.
- Experience of budget monitoring, expenditure management and financial reporting.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in Mental Health or Neurological Disorders
- Prior exposure to NHS/academic multi-centre studies
- Formal training in project management
- Experience working in higher education, healthcare, NHS or research-intensive environments.
