We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Commercial Legal Services team, supporting the APAC region across a broad range of commercial and contractual matters. This is an opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders, providing practical legal guidance that helps the business achieve its objectives while managing risk.
As Legal Counsel, you’ll act as a key legal partner to the business, supporting commercial deals from negotiation through to contract execution.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders.
- Build effective relationships across teams and functions.
- Identify legal and contractual risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks and legal processes.
- Lead negotiations with external parties.
- Support legal compliance activities and business training initiatives.
- Assist with legal operations, disputes and other corporate matters as required
Skills and Experience:
- Admission as an Australian lawyer
- Post-qualification experience
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of Australian commercial and contract law
- The ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a range of teams
- A flexible and organised approach in a fast-paced environment
