Assistant Contract Manager 

Location: East Hertfordshire 
Salary: £36,000 per annum 
Full Time | Permanent | Mon-Fri

APCOA is looking for an experienced Assistant Contract Manager to support the successful delivery of our East Hertfordshire contract. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident people manager with strong operational and commercial awareness who enjoys building client relationships, and driving high standards of service.
Working closely with the Contract Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, supporting contract performance, and leading frontline teams to deliver contractual and business objectives. 

What will you be doing? 

As our Assistant Contract Manager, you’ll help oversee the daily operation of the contract, ensuring performance targets, service levels and compliance standards are consistently achieved. 

Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Supporting the Contract Manager with day-to-day operational management across multiple sites
  • Leading and developing supervisors and operational teams to deliver outstanding service.
  • Managing staffing levels and resource deployment
  • Supporting recruitment, performance management, appraisals and development opportunities.
  • Managing absence, attendance, disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Assisting with budget monitoring and effective cost control.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, attending meetings, and supporting service reviews. 
  • Acting as Deputy for the Contract Manager when required. 

What are we looking for? 
 
We’re looking for a motivated operation leader who can balance people management with commercial awareness and customer focus.
The ideal candidate will have: 
  • Experience managing and motivating supervisors and operational teams within a customer-facing environment.
  • Experience monitoring KPIs, producing reports and implementing changes. 
  • Knowledge of budgets, cost control and resource planning.
  • Experience managing disciplinary and grievance procedures.
    • Strong stakeholder management and confident presenting skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to prioritise, solve problems and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • A full UK driving licence (multi-site)
  • Knowledge of Employment Law. (desirable)
  • Experience within the parking, enforcement or wider facilities management sector. (desirable)
