Job Introduction

To develop courses/materials and to deliver training to staff in all aspects of their role, working with Eden Futures core values, legislative and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission.

To promote the fantastic learning and development opportunities staff can access as part of Eden Futures and encourage all staff to participate in their own learning and development.  This will involve training staff at all levels as required in all areas where it is needed, including required learning and role-specific training.  To complete the necessary administration as required to comply with CQC outcomes and legislation. 

This role is based on 37.5 hours per week and attracts a car allowance, so travel to our sites across the North of England and Midlands is required.

Successful candidates will be required to have a Standard DBS check prior to commencing employment

Main Responsibility

  • Complete all administrative duties as directed by Lead Trainer
  • Issue employees with course material and mark as required
  • Working with operational leads design and update course content including visual aids, to ensure it is relevant, up to date, it meets the legislative and compliance requirements, is focused on the different needs across our service areas and achieves training outcomes
  • Carry out observations as part of peer reviews with trainers  
  • Be responsible for your travelling time, allowing adequate time with a built in contingency time when travelling to sites
  • Support learners if extra support is needed (e.g. Dyslexia)
  • Greeting staff members in a courteous manner and providing refreshments/hospitality as needed
  • Be responsible for the Health & Safety of learners on any training
  • Review and Risk assess suitability of rooms for training purposes
  • Adherence to code of conduct and managing the classroom (timekeeping, organised ready for each session -ready for the attendees)
  • Ensuring all resources and equipment is available and functional
  • Ensuring that the venues are equipped and clean and tidy following each session-reporting any issues
  • Completing other duties as determined by the Lead Trainer within the general scope of the role
  • Achieve and maintain Eden Futures performance standards for a trainer
  • Deliver training to new and existing staff in face to face required learning subjects, as required, at any of our locations across the UK.  Training could include but is not limited to:
  • Bespoke / Specific training
  • Moving & Handling Theory
  • Moving & Handling Practical 
  • Hoisting / Wheelchair training
  • Health & Safety
  • Induction training
  • Maybo
  • PBS
  • Any other courses required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience and Skills required:

     

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong in the use of Excel to support both reporting as well as daily tasks
    • Confident in other Microsoft Office packages e.g. PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
    • Prior experience of teaching/training, ideally in a care or supported living setting
    • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines 
    • Ability to work under pressure and be flexible to the demands of the organisation
    • Ability to prioritise and manage your own workload amid conflicting demands and busy working periods
    • Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters
    • Can work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders 
    • Have high standards of quality
    • Are methodical, organised and have keen attention to detail
    • Hold a Train the Trainer qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
