Sous Chef – Contract Catering
Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking for your next challenge in a professional contract catering environment? Do you have a passion for great food, strong leadership skills, and the ability to deliver consistently high standards?
We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our team and support the delivery of fresh, high-quality food in a busy catering operation. Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service, excellent food standards, and a positive team culture.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll help develop the team, maintain operational standards, and ensure every customer receives an exceptional dining experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen.
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food.
- Preparing and presenting fresh dishes to company standards.
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and allergen compliance is maintained.
- Supporting stock control, ordering, and waste reduction.
- Assisting with menu delivery and maintaining efficient kitchen operations.
- Training and developing junior team members.
- Creating a positive, organised, and collaborative kitchen environment.
About you
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef
- Experience within contract catering, hospitality, hotels, restaurants, or a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards.
- Confident leadership and communication skills.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a passion for delivering great food.
