The Portfolio Coordinator is a key player in ensuring successful colleague engagement and adoption across multiple projects. This role offers broad ownership across North America with direct exposure to executive partners and a strong focus on strategy, governance, and delivery oversight rather than people management. It centers on crafting priorities, providing trusted mentorship, and translating global direction into effective regional execution within a sophisticated, matrixed organization. The team will be working witihin US hours – between 14:00 and 22:00 (CEST).
What the day will look like
- Program and Project delivery for Aon Technology within the North America region
- Partners closely with regional leadership and global service owners to strengthen performance and drive impact on key strategic initiatives to ensure goals and benchmarks are achieved.
- Establishes, owns and maintains relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders in support of overall business strategy and PMO Team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to define project priorities, implementation opportunities and challenges and keep them up to date with project risks and delivery.
- Responsible for communicating, translating and driving strategy through projects taking into consideration regional and local aspects
- Responsible for ongoing stakeholder management and engagement around projects delivered within the region
- Serves as a point of escalation for all NA related projects
- Supports project delivery via participation in Steering Committees and driving strategic decisions around project delivery
- Partners with finance and sponsors to ensure projects are supported with business cases
- Drive regional team cohesiveness
- Guides and supports stakeholders via global engagement processes and operating models
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 5+ years of strong project management competence with experience in managing different project methodologies
- 3+ years of experience working in matrixed, global organization
- Willingness to work on US working hours 14:00 – 22:00 CEST.
- Experience working with diverse teams
- Strong initiative, organization, project management and execution skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Ability to lead by influence and facilitate consensus among sponsors and team members to achieve tactical and strategic goals
- Strength in relationships and network building across the organization
- Strong work ethic, tenacity and resilience
- Knowledge of costing, budgeting, risk, and financial analysis
- Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills (both written and oral with technical and non-technical colleagues)
