What the day will look like

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive new business strategy to identify and target potential clients in the construction insurance sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders including CFO’s, and risk managers within target industries to understand their needs 
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and propose tailored insurance solutions to meet the unique requirements of each client 
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and product development to ensure seamless onboarding and delivery of services 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, Aon Insights, competitor activities and regulatory changes to identify emerging opportunities for growth 
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations, proposals and pitches to potential clients, showcasing the value proposition of Aon 
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics, including lead conversion rates, pipeline growth and revenue targets to management on regular basis 
  • Represent Aon at industry events, conferences and networking functions to promote our brand and expand our presence in the market

Skills and experience that will lead to success

New Business Development Executive in the Construction Insurance Specialty working to a defined new business target.  

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working within a commercial environment and a working knowledge of corporate and construction insurance programmes  
  • Hold a minimum CIP and progress to MDI or ACII qualification, additional business-related qualifications will also be of benefit  
  • Knowledge of construction insurance products, underwriting processes and regulatory requirements 
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients at all levels 
  • Self-motivated and target-driven with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong sales acumen, with the ability to identify client needs and close complex deals
