Join Forward Trust as a Health & Wellbeing Practitioner based at HMP Millsike, working full time, 35 hours per week. Due to the rural location of HMP Millsike, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a healthier, more positive prison environment by supporting individuals to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Working as part of our innovative Connections Health & Wellbeing & Recovery Support Service, you’ll help deliver a prison-wide programme of activities, workshops and interventions that empower people to make lasting positive change.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 support, group sessions and wellbeing programmes
  • Work alongside trained prisoner Health & Wellbeing Champions
  • Promote healthier lifestyles, recovery and positive routines
  • Organise wellbeing events and pop-up health promotion days
  • Support individuals with tailored plans for progress and release
  • Build strong partnerships with healthcare, substance misuse and prison teams
  • Help create a vibrant calendar of activities including yoga, mindfulness, healthy eating and more
  • Maintain accurate case notes, assessments and performance data

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting vulnerable or complex individuals
  • A passion for health, wellbeing, recovery and rehabilitation
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied caseload
  • Comfortable working in partnership with multiple agencies
  • Good IT skills and confidence using case management systems
  • Flexible approach, including some evening and weekend delivery

All prison-based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 5 months to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.

Please note if you have lived overseas within the last 5 years then checks may take longer.
