Lead Lecturer in Painting and Decorating – Whittingham Road Campus, Halesowen

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Halesowen College for a Lead Lecturer in Painting and Decorating. In this role, you will lead and deliver outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment that provides a high-quality experience to motivated students preparing for a career in the painting and decorating trade.

You will have the expertise to deliver engaging and industry-relevant topics across a range of Painting and Decorating programmes, including surface preparation, applying paint systems by brush and roller, producing decorative finishes, hanging foundation and plain papers, and working safely within construction environments. The curriculum also embeds sustainability, communication, and teamwork skills essential for success in modern industry.

As Lead Lecturer, you will play a key role in curriculum development and quality enhancement, supporting and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistently high standards of teaching and assessment. You will help shape an innovative and responsive curriculum that meets industry expectations and promotes excellence in practical skills and professional behaviours.

Working collaboratively across construction and wider curriculum areas, you will ensure that learners develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to progress into employment or higher-level study. A passion for the subject, strong industry knowledge, and a commitment to inspiring students to achieve and succeed in their chosen trade are essential.
