Salary: £54,500 – £65,500, depending on skills and experience

Location: Flexible across the Anglian Water Region, must have ability to travel to Peterborough and Huntingdon

Hybrid Working, 2-3 days per week in the office

We’re looking for a Senior Cost Control Manager to lead commercial management within our Water Supply Maintenance Delivery team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing a team of commercial and procurement professionals, ensuring robust cost control, contract compliance, and commercial performance across a significant programme of work, including both construction and non-construction activities and minor civils.

You will ensure commercial integrity, accurate reporting, and compliance with governance standards, whilst awarding and managing contracts with framework partners. You will focus on embedding best practices, driving process efficiencies, managing financial risks, fostering stakeholder relationships, and maintaining cost control to maximise value and minimise liabilities, alongside line management responsibilities.

Our newly formed Supply Maintenance Delivery Team is building a fresh inspection and delivery framework, embedding innovative processes, and forging strong partnerships with our partners. It’s an exciting time to be part of one of Water Supply’s largest capital programmes, where safety, efficiency, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial management of the allocated programme area, ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting, and risk mitigation

  • Drive commercial efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities

  • Ensure contract administration, compliance, and self-assurance across all commercial processes

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, commercial integrity, and continuous improvement

  • Act as the main point of contact for commercial matters within the delivery route

  • Ensure alignment with Anglian Water’s governance and procurement policies

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong commercial acumen and leadership experience

  • In-depth knowledge of NEC3 contracts and construction law

  • Experience managing commercial teams in a matrix environment

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region

  • Relevant degree in construction or commercial management (desirable)

  • Professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CIOB, ICE) (desirable)
