Warehouse Team Manager – Night Shift – Booker Distribution

We are opening a new site in Fareham! Our new Distribution Centre will be a 117,000 sq ft modern DC that will be moving up to 270,000 cases per week and will be servicing our group customers across both retail and catering such as Londis, Budgens and Premier

The Warehouse Team Manager will support the site management team in the efficient and cost effective management of the warehouse operations. It will be your responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the daily Warehouse operation and enable the required level of service to be provided to the customer at all times.

The working pattern for this role is 10pm-6am working 5 out of 7 days per week

Reporting to the Warehouse Shift Manager, your role is to ensure a smooth efficient and safe running of the Warehouse operation to meet productivity requirements and service level commitments. You will ensure that the receiving, storing, picking and dispatch of Goods in the correct manner to agreed productivity levels and within budgetary constraints, whilst maintaining a safe and legal working environment through effective team management. 

You will effectively support your team of Warehouse and Clerical colleagues to be the best they can be and ensure support the life cycle of our colleagues.

To be successful in this role you’ll have working knowledge of the Warehouse function within the FMCG distribution industry as well as working knowledge of the business and operational aspects of supervising a depot Warehouse operation. General knowledge of the Transport function would be an advantage.

As you will be leading a team of warehouse operatives, you’ll have excellent communication skills and have the ability to manage & train colleagues. Your computer skills will be important too as you will be using Office 365 on a daily basis for reporting, absence and formal disciplinary processes, coaching and wellness meetings. 

Shift Hours: 38 hrs per week (5 from 7)
