Description:
Having secured a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund,Heritage & CultureWarwickshireare looking to appoint an enthusiasticarchivist to lead an exciting andinnovativeproject working with communities across Warwickshire. It isa great opportunityto gainexperienceworkingwith theimportantarea to improveDiversityand Inclusion within archives.The successful candidate will be supported by other members of the archivist team, mainlythe EngagementArchivist,recently the recipient ofWarwickshireCountyCouncil’sStar AwardforDiversity & Inclusion, and the Senior Archivist who will line manage the position.

Theywillidentifyandwork withawide variety ofcommunities to support them instoring and caring for,understandingand recording their collections.The project will alsobegin workon compilinga directory ofarchivesheld within communitiesand promote their usetomakemore people across Warwickshireawareoftheserecordsandincrease the number of people accessingthe county’sdiverseheritage.

This role will suit someone who has a sound understanding of cataloguingand promoting archival collections anda passion for engaging withcommunities todemonstratethe importance of heritagein community identityandthe need tosafeguardit for future generations. The successful candidate will develop and deliver a training programme to inspire and equip communities tolook after and record theirowncollections.We arelooking for someone with energy and imagination to make the most of ashort-termcontract that willbenefittheir continued professional development.

The post is fixed term (six months) full time (37 hours per week)and not suitable for home working.
