About the Service/Department
The successful candidate will work with and support people who have a range of complex health, care and support needs in a person-centred, psychologically informed way.

About the role
The main purpose of this role is to lead, motivate and empower a team of floating support workers to deliver community based, person-centred and holistic support services to people with mental health and substance/alcohol misuse experience and BAME community clients at risk of gang exploitation

  • • Substance misuse service across RBKC
  • • BAME support service across Westminster

Some other main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Actively monitor the health, wellbeing, safety and security of the service and its users ensuring all concerns are followed up promptly and in line with procedures
  • Participate in the core work of the service, providing support to colleagues, carrying out tasks allocated by the team leader and service manager and using initiative to identify and deal with additional tasks as they arise
  • Ensure that administration is done in good time; that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously, and that confidentiality is appropriately maintained
  • To carry out duties in line with organisational policies and procedures

About you

  • A working knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and welfare benefits / housing legislation
  • Working knowledge of the Prevent strategy and best practices to address risks of gang exploitation
  • Ability to act as a staff champion, supporting colleagues, networking and building expertise and best practice within the team for your specialism
  • Thorough understanding of discrimination and disability issues, equal opportunities and anti- discriminatory practice
  • Ability to promote the service and give presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Ability and willingness to lone work
  • Ability and willingness to work remotely and in the community, using mobile technology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
