Searcys are looking to grow their Kitchen team at our Searcys venue and are currently looking for motivated Sous Chef

As a Sous Chef your role will be supporting the Head Chef and leading a team of CDP in the production of the food for events, conferences and functions within the venue.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: £36,000 – £38,000

WHAT WILL KEEP YOU BUSY:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the kitchen operation
  • Look at the development and planning of menus, including future food trends
  • Develop new styles of service and concepts in the location
  • Compile all food orders for your sections, ensuring food standards and cost are agreed with the Head Chef
  • Ensure stock, deliveries and wastage are all checked and recorded in line with company procedures
  • To provide food/service to a consistent high standard, including assisting senior chefs with functions in other different areas throughout the business.
  • To manage the kitchen brigade in the absence of the Head chef
  • To assist training of junior staff
  • To liaise with key people in the team in order to plan for the provision of food in all areas
  • To place order directly with suppliers

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Display a real passion for food, with a customer focussed approach
  • Previous experience within the demands of an events kitchen at the relevant level
  • Team player with the ability to manage and develop your brigade with the Head Chef
  • Ability to control costs, negotiate and build relationships with suppliers
  • Knowledgeable and proactive approach to Health & Food Safety
  • Relevant qualifications
