Undertaking the role of care co-ordination and, if a qualified AMHP, contributing to the AMHP rota, you’ll work in a client centred and holistic way to promote personalisation and empower individuals to make choices, supporting them in achieving their current goals in aiding and enabling their recovery. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, using evidence-based approaches in the assessment and delivery of time limited interventions. You’ll be communicating with a wide variety of clients; professionals; partners and agencies and will be working on your own initiative and making decisions in pressurised situations.
Although employed by Warwickshire County Council, this role is seconded to the Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Partnership Trust.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you’ll ideally be an Approved Mental Health Professional, or willing to train and practice as one. With a Social work qualification, registered with Social Work England and Ideally, you’ll have at least 2 years’ experience of working with people with complex and significant mental health problems and we see this as an ideal opportunity to further develop specialist skills. It’s important you have strong analytical and communication skills, and you can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues. With the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure as well as maintaining composure and your professional stance, you’ll be used to making difficult decisions. Strong at influencing and persuading as well as being flexible and innovative in your approach is also important. Professional social work supervision and line management supervision is provided. Although we will consider less experienced social workers and newly qualified social workers who are enthusiastic to develop and train to enhance their knowledge and expertise of working within an adult mental health setting.
