Description: Warwickshire County Council is looking to appoint a Service Performance & Assurance Officer to help guide the future direction of ICT in the council.
About the team
Warwickshire County Council has a dedicated ICT Strategy and Commissioning Service which is responsible for developing our ICT strategy and vision.
The function of the ICT Services Teamis to assure the quality of internal and external ICT services from an end user and customer experience perspective. We provide a strategic interface with the business tounderstand service demand and future need. We alsowork in collaboration with Solution Architects and operational teams to assure solution compatibility with business requirements and WCC architecture and principles. This could be through working on established projects, or through early conversations with business stakeholders about potential areas for improvement or development.
The Service also manages a strategic commissioning programme which provides a governance framework and reporting capability for the work that the ICT delivery teams do. This enables a data-informed approach to service delivery and continuous improvement.
About you
The remit of the team is primarily assurance and therefore does not require day-to-day operational technical ability. You will have a background in IT service management and a sound understanding of ITIL v4 best practice framework.
You will have an analytical mind and to be able to assess available data to answer questions, identify where there are gaps and build an assumption base.
You must be able to provide insight on the quality of ICT service provision against agreed outcomes and measuresand have the ability to understand, anticipate and influence customer demand for services and operational risk and assurance opportunities.
Thoughtful and clear communication skills are essential in this role.
What you’ll be doing
You willwork collaboratively with operational teams to drive the continual service improvement of ICT systems and service performance.
You will establish a rigorous system of data collection and usage toassure that performance and impacts are monitored, managed and improved in line with strategic priorities.
Over the next year we will be focusing on four primary areas for change:
Applications and Technology Baselining and Rationalisation
Business Systems Optimisation
Cloud Adoption
Customer Experience Improvement Projects
As aService Performance & Assurance Officer you will be supporting ICT and the business through these changes assuring their readiness to adopt and react to change andidentifying emerging issues/pressures that may require remedial action.
We will also be developing commissions covering the services that ICT provide to the business, including:
End User Compute
Public Digital Services
Digital Workplace
Core Infrastructure
Security Services
Service Management
You will play an active role in defining and developing these, working with ICT colleagues and with stakeholders across the business.
