We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Accounting Advisory to join our high performing finance team in the Midlands region.

You will be the Functional expert within the Tarmac Group on technical accounting matters. Ensuring Tarmac results are reported in line with relevant accounting standards, providing business partnering support and coaching to the business to improve compliance with Group accounting policies.

  • Proactively input into the structuring of business transactions to ensure optimum outcomes are achieved from both a commercial and accounting perspective
  • Works directly with the business to advise on a wide range of complex accounting issues and technical accounting opinions
  • Leads on the implementation of new accounting standards and changes in accounting guidance
  • Working closely with the R2R team to ensure alignment of accounting practices with most up to date Group guidance
  • Oversight of the preparation of annual statutory accounts for all UK subsidiaries
  • Oversee Tarmac Group consolidation process at period end 
  • Oversee preparation of the monthly financial pack for the CFO
  • Manage the half yearly and year end financial reporting to Group
  • Also oversee operational treasury requirements and UK corporate head office companies

Your key stakeholders will be our CFO, Finance Director, Director of Group Finance & Business Planning, Business Unit Heads of Finance, CRH Group Accounting Team & our External Auditors.

We are looking for a fully qualified ACA / ACCA / ACMA accountant with an excellent grasp of financial standards and regulations.

Who has the ability to communicate with other areas of the business in an easily understandable manner, building relationships with a varied set of stakeholders.

You must be well organised, able to manage multiple tasks, effectively prioritise to meet deadlines.  These coupled with a proven ability to manage / mentor staff & advise in technical accounting matters.
