…And right now, we are looking for a QA Manager to work in our IT Technology team in our Insurance side of the business at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products.  

You will manage a process and a team by leading its people and processes to deliver world class quality assurance testing capability for our systems and services across the insurance business. This will be through excellent delivery and strategic focus with specific emphasis automation, best practice, and colleague leadership. 

You will also have full accountability for the application and delivery of quality assurance within the technology function for insurance. This covers the day-to day capability needed for change delivery, ownership of QA within the software development lifecycle and the strategic review.

As a QA Manager your top 5 responsibilities will be: 

  • Manage the QA function, including recruitment and performance management, leading the Saga values, and driving growth and capability progression.  

  • Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for delivery of high-quality product development. 

  • Introduction of standardisation and consistency of testing frameworks in line with industry best practice across a broad range of enterprise technology and data solutions.  

  • Lead the cultural and technical maturity of the QA function introducing a step change in capability and accountability for testing within the delivery lifecycle.  

  • Ownership and contribution of QA strategy in support of the DevOps and Agile development principles covering functional and non-functional test areas.

  • Communication skills. 

  • Test management. 

  • Agile project management. 

  • Technology leadership. 

  • Stakeholder management. 

  • Performance management. 
  • Proven technical background with experience working in QA 

  • An excellent record of accomplishment of successful delivery of test management frameworks and practices. 

  • Proven management skills in various technical project, delivery, and QA environments. 

  • Experienced QA tester. 

  • Management experience. 

  • Good education background ideally to a degree level.
