What you’ll be doing
Hodder Education is looking for a Product Manager, Assessment (parental leave cover) to join a team dedicated to developing evidence-based products, platforms, and assessments that help teachers support their pupils to achieve their best.
You will:
- manage a range of assessment products, services, or platform improvements (print and digital) to increase sales and usage. Products will be at different stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation and launch to sunsetting.
- use a wide range of research techniques to develop a deep understanding of customer needs for your products or services.
- build and maintain a detailed understanding of the competitive market environment in which your products operate.
- monitor performance of print and digital products and features, so that the content is kept up to date and digital improvements are providing value for customers.
- work with authors and consultants to create market-focused assessment products and services.
- convey product requirements through writing clear, detailed briefs for new products, services, improvements or bug fixes.
- be the product owner for your assessment projects, collaborating with a wide project team to ensure timely, high quality product developments.
- be a champion of customer needs for our online assessment reporting and analysis platform.
Who we are looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join a highly collaborative team in an important area of Hodder Education. You will be a customer-focused individual with an interest in making a difference in education. You will have experience of commissioning, developing or managing products, resources, content or services (print or digital) for a specific market and working with customer feedback to inform developments. You will be highly organised with experience of managing products.
You will have good data literacy and be comfortable working on digital projects. You’ll have experience of market research, and able to draw conclusions from a wide range of data and research to inform evidence-based decisions. You’ll be commercial with a desire to develop products and services that teachers want and use, to help our assessment business grow.

This role can be based at our London office, or at any of our new regional offices in Edinburgh, Newcastle, or Sheffield, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.

Salary:
£40,000 – £45,000, dependent on experience and location (+bonus + benefits)
