We’re leveraging cutting-edge pricing methodologies and machine learning techniques to overhaul our renewal pricing process. With enhanced data at our disposal, we’re poised to create more accurate and competitive pricing models. To achieve this, we’re seeking a Pricing Analyst who possesses the necessary skills, vision, and determination to help shape best-in-class pricing strategies.

Supported by a top-tier pricing team and state-of-the-art pricing tools, the Pricing Analyst will be involved in the entire pricing process. Their responsibilities include supporting the Pricing Manager and other Senior Pricing Analysts with analysing findings, and effectively communicating insights to stakeholders. This pivotal role ensures that our pricing remains competitive and aligned with market trends. 

What will I be doing?

  • Building and Maintaining Robust Pricing Models: Create and manage pricing models that enhance AA’s value by optimising renewal performance in alignment with business objectives.
  • Improving Model Performance: Identify opportunities to enhance model performance through innovative data items and analytical techniques, including open data, data enrichment, and machine learning.
  • Developing Robust Data Sets: Build comprehensive data sets to ensure data adequacy and accuracy and collaborate with Financial Analysts to support lifetime value models.
  • Assisting with Implementation: Support the Pricing Manager in implementing pricing models, including deployment and price testing.
  • Engaging Stakeholders: Present insights and strategic plans to key stakeholders to gain support for pricing initiatives.
  • Collaborating Across Teams: Work closely with other pricing and data teams to integrate insights into pricing strategies.

What do I need?

  • Insurance Pricing Models: Proven experience and solid technical understanding of insurance pricing models (GLMs essential, machine learning techniques desirable)
  • Software Skills: Proven skills in the following software packages: Radar (including Optimiser, desirable), deployment of Radar Live (desirable), EMBLEM or similar (desirable), and a programming language (e.g., SAS, R, Python, SQL, etc.)
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Ability to work under pressure and use judgment to provide appropriate answers within required timescales
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, including evidence of using appropriate analytical techniques and drawing conclusions from data
  • Effective Communication: A proven track record of communicating complex issues to business management
