Job Title: Maintenance Technician 

Reporting to: Regional Estates Supervisor

Salary- 22k plus van

Job scope:

The Estates Technician will be accountable for a portfolio, consisting of adult and children services, within their region, and working with the location managers, to provide best in class environments for the individuals we support. The post holder will form part of a team and act as the home managers first point of contact for estates matters.

Job Responsibilities:

·Attend the sites within their region on a regular basis to carry out H and S checks in line with the “Salutem Maintenance Manuals”,

·First line “triage” to reactive repairs and to include;

  • Minor electrical works, lamp changes, light fittings and sockets
  • Plumbing repairs and minor installations, changing washers
  • Replacing locks, door closers and other door furniture
  • Escalate reactive tasks that are beyond a standard repair to the “helpdesk”
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders ensure prompt and accurate feedback to the help desk on job progress and status

·To carry out planned works, under the direction of the Head of Estates, and supervision of the Regional Estates Supervisor to include;

  • Performance of tasks to assist with delivery of the annual budgeted works program,
  • Carry out basic grounds maintenance (grass cutting, trimming, litter clearing and weeding),
  • Decorating tasks in accordance with the agreed rolling decoration program for the region,
  • Provide external contractor support when required,
  • Ensure appropriate fire risk assessment recommendations are actioned,
  • Ensure water risk assessments recommendations are actioned,
  • Escalate any issues that are not readily resolved to their line manager.

·Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies

·Provide excellent customer service to service management and the people we support

·Provide estates support to the Location Managers and the Regional Estates Supervisor in accordance with above, and as directed

·Attend and complete training provided by the company

·Access to various portals in order to provide necessary updates.

·Participate in the “on call” rota for the allocated region (24/7)

Professional Qualifications

C and G/NVQ level 2 + 

National Diploma/Apprentice trained within a relative discipline
