Salary: £35,000 per annum

As a key member of the Chartwells Growth Development Team you will report directly to the Chartwells Sales Director supporting the programme of sales and retention activity across the year. Supporting the team of Business Development Managers and Strategic Partners to ensure all activity is managed from end to end, managing the full programme of activity, and ensuring the right people, are in the right place, at the right time for all projects.  


An important aspect of the role will be to manage the involvement of all stakeholders required to support the bid team, from Operations to Finance and legal. Weekly reporting and concise data analysis to monitor trends and risk is crucial for the growth team to utilise and manage processes, as well as being able to adapt them as required to ensure Growth is achieved across Chartwells and the yearly targets are met.

  • Lead and manage the focus and time of 10-12 sales and retention colleagues
  • Liaise and work with various stakeholders in central functions to improve process and progress activity to improve and drive success.  Bid Team, Legal, Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Purchasing, Food Development and Nutrition Team etc
  • Diary management and resource co-ordination for all sales and retention activity
  • Manage and act as the focal point for defining, improving, implementing, and maintaining process’ and ways of working within the appropriate project methodology
  • Drive a ‘one’ team approach- share process’, tools and ways of working
  • Lead and chair weekly calls for each sector and retention colleagues.  Improving communication between all stakeholders across the program of activity
  • Track and report progress and activity status on a weekly basis
  • Escalate risks to Sales Director as required and manage program risks
  • Lead business Change projects required to improve Net Growth process’ and improve chances of winning
  • Report evaluation findings to the Sales Director and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate
  • Support &/or lead additional projects as requested by Sales Director
  • Lead lessons learned sessions to allow for continuous improvement to processes
  • Co-ordinate all legal activity for Sales & retention in Chartwells. Track the progress and updates on calls with legal & Ops. 
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships across the company
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities
  • Strong ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders in internal environments who may have differing priorities and personalities
  • Strong ability to work on multiple projects at varying stages of the process
  • Data focused with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Comfortable utilising Microsoft Office to monitor and produce reports/data and presentations

Experience Required:

  • A project management qualification- a good understanding of the methodology and proven experience in using the methods to build/develop process and deliver successful projects
  • Proven experience of managing and driving teams to achieve project goals
  • Good analytic and problem-solving skills and ability to actively manage risks and issues
  • Desired experience of managing full bid project life cycles
  • Desired experience of operating in a service delivery environment
