Overview
What you’ll be doing
Our core business strategy is to create a compelling customer value proposition based on the delivery of profitable, scalable and impactful global education solutions. Focussing on fast growing segments and international markets, these will combine elements of content, assessment and professional development to provide measurable impact on educators and their learners.
Leveraging on a partnership approach and identifying major project wins to accelerate our growth, we will increasingly move from a product sell to a solution sell to a range of significant organisations and customer groupings, such as Ministries of Education and School Chains.
To support this strategy, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Director reporting to the Director, Global Sales and Customer Success to shape and deliver an ambitious and robust international business development sales plan. Â This will target key territories, stakeholders and customer segments to identify and deliver new revenue streams based on creating compelling educational solutions across content, assessment and professional development. These will be delivered through working with international sales colleagues and internal Hodder stakeholders from Product and Marketing to Operations and Finance.
Who we are looking for
You will ideally have significant experience in the international education sector and have a powerful track record in devising and implementing solutions for major customer groupings. You have excellent stakeholder skills coupled with an excellent network in the industry, with the ability to build relationships at all levels, internally and externally, from internal project teams to Ministers of Education and everyone in between. You’re happy to work autonomously, driving sales and projects, exploring various avenues of opportunity globally across the K-12 curriculum.
What we offer
Our staff are our greatest asset and our benefits reflect this. In addition to 28 days annual leave days per year + bank holidays, we have an extensive list of benefits that include: a wide-ranging training library, development programmes including mentoring, Cycle to Work vouchers, Private Medical Insurance, eye care vouchers, up to 70% off book purchases, a charity book shelf, 2 community days per year, many employee networks to join, summer hours (finishing at 1pm on Fridays during the summer months!), season ticket loans, rent deposit loans, generous pension schemes and much more!
This role is London based (or potentially Dubai) with international travel as required.
