Job Description

Renishaw is looking for a Infrastructure Support Analyst to join our IT & Security team, reporting to the Infrastructure & Security Manager.  By providing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex, interconnected, secure, available, and efficient systems and equipment, IT Operations supports and enables our global employees to develop innovative solutions and technology for our customers.
This role can be based at our HQ in Wotton-under-Edge (Glouc.) or at our Miskin (south Wales) manufacturing site.

As we look to further develop the level of service provided to our Engineering and Manufacturing functions, the Manufacturing Infrastructure Support Analyst will be at the heart of a busy and friendly department, collaborating closely with other stakeholders on a range of activities that supports and improves the efficiency, protection and resilience of our company’s shop floor manufacturing systems, whilst having opportunities to grow and develop their own experience and technical skills.  The role will primarily involve the support and in-depth troubleshooting of interconnected shop floor ‘Operational Technology’ (PC Devices, Applications, Rigs, Networking and related specialist hardware platforms) that are utilised in Renishaw production facilities. 


  • Provide fast, efficient and diligent IT support to Renishaw employees 

  • Troubleshoot all elements of complex interconnected shop floor systems and related server applications.   

  • Provide IT expertise and guidance on implementation, replacement and development of shop floor systems. With a focus on security, supportability and interoperability within wider infrastructure controls and constraints.  

  • Understand and document ‘Operational Technology’ solutions  

  • Keep abreast of current technologies and working practices 

Key requirements 

  • Good knowledge of recent versions of Windows 

  • Good understanding of IP networking, and competent at troubleshooting connectivity and routing issues 

  • Knowledge of PC hardware 

  • The ability to support a variety of PC software packages 

  • Full UK driving licence 

Desirable requirements 

  • Previous expertise in an IT support role 

  • Previous experience of supporting shop floor ‘Operational Technology’ 

  • Previous experience of SQL database management and query tools 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related IT course

You are personable, with a good telephone manner, and are calm and patient when supporting people who may be experiencing issues or frustration. You have the ability to collaborate openly with other stakeholders to achieve mutually agreeable solutions. 

You take the initiative on tasks and work well independently once you’ve understood what is needed, taking responsibility to complete work to a high standard.  You are inquisitive and logical, which makes you a great trouble-shooter.  

In a role where consistency of process enables high quality support, you take an organised and systematic approach, absorbing, following, and defining technical instructions accurately and efficiently. 

As a team player, willing to get involved to support the success of the team and Renishaw, you are flexible, adaptable, and able to perform the physical activities required as part of the role.  With a range of demands on your time, you prioritise your own workload effectively, and know when to escalate priority calls. 

You have a clean driving licence, for frequent travel between Renishaw UK manufacturing sites.
