Salary: £32,800 – £49,200

About the role:

The Infrastructure Engineer – Security will join an already established team within CBS, providing a level of technical knowledge to undertake the installation, configuration of Security Tools to enable the detection and defence from threats to the society.  Completes tasks to agreed levels of quality, within stated timescales with minimal supervision.  Looks for improvement opportunities within the team and its processes/procedures. Possesses an agile mindset with the capability to embrace change and new technologies. An effective team member who provides support and guidance to peers and other team members.  Contributes to team efficiency through the creation of accurate technical documentation.

  • Responsible for independently troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Undertake technical tasks such as updating installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, of security tools
  • Effectively prioritise tasks to ensure high priority activities are completed first

About you:

  • Be able to deliver clear and logical documentation for team members, other teams and end users to follow
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Thorough, with a good attention to detail.
  • Deliver to agreed timescales.
  • Flexible approach to working hours to meet own objectives and assist colleagues in meeting their objectives.
  • Available for out-of-hours support, on a rota basis.

Demonstrable level of knowledge in cyber security.  Essential experience of working in a complex environment.  Experience in a regulated environment would be desirable. 

  • Experience of configuring security tools including one of the following: SIEM, EDR, AV, WAF or Secure Web Gateways.
  • Experience of integrating tools in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender Suite is preferable.
  • Experience of cloud technologies – AWS, Azure
  • Experience of agile methodologies is preferred but not essential
  • Infrastructure as Code, automation
  • DevSecOps
  • Worked as part of a security engineering team
