Head of Planned and Investment (Senior Contracts Manager)
Salary: £56,118 to £57,698 per annum
37 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced contracts manager to join us in the role of Head of Planned and Investment – this role is a key senior manager role within our Asset Management team whose key focus will be to lead and develop aspects of the housing investment schemes across the City, including budget allocation for planned and replacement works and all associated internal and external resources to ensure delivery. The successful candidate will also provide strategic and operational direction to the Assistant Director (Asset Management) working with tenants and other key stakeholders to make our communities a great place to live and work.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure we meet our statutory and regulatory maintenance responsibilities as a landlord.
- Deliver an operating model that is agile and capable of supporting ongoing continuous self-transformation which addresses the key customer and service issues we are trying to solve.
- Constructively challenge working practices to identify and address areas of concern within existing relationships, performance, system and process issues to remove non-value activities and deliver service improvements.
- Manage all stages of the capital delivery programmes for planned improvement and replacement works within defined internal resources, and external support where required, agreed budgets, timescales and performance and productivity measures.
- Responsible for delivering housing capital investment works which are financially sustainable and meet tenants’ priorities.
- Digitalise the service using an agreed IT system to help improve efficiency and effectiveness of activities and create data that can be used intelligently to inform future investment, resourcing and delivery decisions.
- Invest time in developing strong cross-functional collaborative relationships within property, the wider Housing Service and Nottingham City Council.
The person:
We are looking for someone who is proactive, innovative and adaptable, with strong knowledge and experience working in construction contract management – while not essential, it would be ideal if you come from a social housing or refurbishment background. This role will manage direct labour and contractors/external partner relationships and as such experience in managing those varied stakeholders and excellent communication skills are essential. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, has an agile approach to management and a collaborative approach to solution design and planning.
