As our Finance Manager you will hold an influential and high-profile role delivering financial and commercial support to both the operations and finance team at Jockey Club Catering and our partner Jockey Club Racecourses. Through effective business partnering, you will continually improve service levels, cost effectiveness and add value to commercial activities undertaken. Your role will also include cover for all commercial aspects of events such as the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will take overall control of the day-to-day running of the accounts for the catering function of the South West racecourses, with an active accounts responsibility for Cheltenham and 2 of our smaller racecourses.
You will actively participate in client relationship management through financial information and accurate, effective and timely reporting of all key data and key commercial KPI’s to improve financial performance. Providing commercial insight into the Food & Beverage operation of the business using experience and knowledge to ensure key data and cost controls are adhered to.
You will be responsible for the full life-cycle management of event-based finance from pre-event forecasting, event day commercial functions, and post event account cleardown with accurate result reporting.
Whilst supporting leadership teams with client requests and ad-hoc projects you will manage debt, oversee budgets and forecasts, own financial control and governance processes, and liaise with auditors at financial year end.

You will be CIMA qualified accountant with experience of leading and motivating a team of direct reports. Experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders with the ability to challenge, influence and persuade is essential. Ideally, you will have multi-site/multi-contract operational knowledge and have worked within the Hospitality sector.
