Macmillan Engagement Manager (South West of England)

Home based/Mobile worker – South West*
Salary: £44,000 – £49,000 (national)

*This role will cover the South West of England. You must live in or live close to this geography as frequent travel is required. We anticipate this to be up to three days per week (if full time). Access to a vehicle or alternative means of transport is essential and successful candidates will receive a car allowance. Some evening and out-of-hours work will also be required, and occasional overnight stays.

The South West geography covers the areas; Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

About the role
As an Engagement Manager you will use insight and data to develop programmes of work and use your expertise in engaging with communities to identify the needs and empower people living with cancer and communities in developing solutions to meet these needs.

You will challenge health inequalities by developing and leading on innovative engagement programmes to shape and influence new services through working with a variety of stakeholders, including our health and social care partners.

Please note all candidates are subject to a criminal record check for this role. This cost will be covered by Macmillan and all enhancements must be declared prior to the check.

About you:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent programme, stakeholder management, influencing skills to develop approaches that deliver great outcomes for people living with cancer.
  • Experience of managing complex programmes and ability to prioritise competing deadlines and workload.
  • Knowledge of implementing a person-centred approach via co-production and co-design methodologies
  • Experience of working with communities and people from all backgrounds to develop partnerships
  • Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data to develop new initiatives, to help shape decisions and to report on outcomes
  • Demonstrate an understanding of UK Health and social care systems and knowledge of health inequalities (Desirable)
