Job Introduction

In this world ofdata driven results and outcomes the role of Operational Support is ever moreimportant to help Skipton Building Society achieve its objectives and providethe service we pride ourselves on. As such, thisrole is to provide the Mortgage and Investment operation functions support onthe testing and implementation of system controls, user acceptance testing ofprocess enhancements and faults, technical website support, submission of majorregulatory returns and facilitation of customer mailings.

Main Responsibilities

In the role ofOperational Support Consultant one of your main responsibility is to assist inthe delivery of system changes that come from project and small change testing.By understanding the departmental priorities, you will be able to ensure theseprocesses are captured to allow easy transfer of knowledge to those who needit. This is very much a supportive role and as such you will be interactingwith stakeholders and third party suppliers such as mortgage intermediariesalong with regulatory bodies including HMRC, FCA and Bank of England. In addition tothe above you will identify and champion continuous improvement as part of therole whilst providing accurate, expert and timely advice to the wider businessand support the building of a high performing culture. Anticipating operationaland regulatory risk is also part of the role ensuring all is done to thehighest standard with accuracy and detail beingat the heart of what youdo. 

Ideal Candidate

The idealcandidate will be technically minded, organised and focused on results. Havingan ability to adapt to changes in workloads, processes or team priorities aswell as being able to investigate, analyse and agree solutions independently.Stakeholder management is an important part of the role so you must becomfortable dealing with people at all levels of the organisation.
